What's left behind the scenes

  • Emilio Estevez is listed first among the cast, but he only appears on screen as Gordon at the beginning of the film, in the middle with Charlie, played by Joshua Jackson, and towards the end of the film. All his scenes take up less than 20 minutes of screen time. This was because, at the time of filming Robert Lieberman's sports comedy, he was simultaneously filming the drama "War at Home" (1996), and therefore could not devote enough time to working with Lieberman. That is why his character in "The Mighty Ducks 3" received less screen time than Estevez's character had in the previous two films in the franchise. He agreed to the small role in exchange for financial support for the filming of "War at Home."
