What's left behind the scenes
- When Dominic reaches for the Crown of the British Empire, black birds are momentarily shown flying away from the Tower. According to legend, if the ravens fly away from the Tower, the British Empire will fall. Therefore, according to an old custom, their flight feathers on the right wing are trimmed, which is a painless procedure. A specially authorized member of the Tower’s ceremonial guard – the Ravenmaster – takes care of the birds.
- Christoph Waltz made a brief appearance on screen as himself.
- Tina Fey and Matt Vogel were specially prepared to voice Nadiya and Konstantin.
- Costume designer Vivienne Westwood created Miss Piggy’s wedding dress from fabric made from recycled water bottles.
- Prisoners in the Gulag perform a pas de deux from “Swan Lake.” Rudolf Nureyev parodied this same ballet as “Pig Lake” (1978).
- Konstantin the frog was specifically made to look noticeably different from Kermit.
- The film was released 30 years after the theatrical release of "The Muppets Take Manhattan" (Frank Oz, 1984).
- The idea of breaking sculptural busts to find an item inside one of them was borrowed from the stories of Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) about Sherlock Holmes.
- Prisoners in the Gulag perform a pas de deux from “Swan Lake.” This same ballet was parodied by Rudolf Nureyev as “Swan Lake” (1978).
