What's left behind the scenes
- The film is based on the 1971 book "The Futurological Congress" by Polish writer Stanislaw Lem.
- All animated scenes were initially acted out by actors in studio settings so that the animators could most accurately transfer the plot to animation.
- Initially, actresses Cate Blanchett and Cameron Diaz were considered for the lead role, but after seeing actress Robin Wright at an event, director Ari Folman offered the role to her.
- The live-action part of the film was shot in America, while the animation was done by specialists from Israel, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Poland.
- Like her on-screen counterpart, Robin Wright has two children, an older daughter and a younger son.
