- Jacques Turner did not want to film scenes with the monster; he would have preferred to simply indicate the presence of evil, but the studio insisted on a literal depiction of the demon.
- The famous line from the film, "It's in the trees! It's coming!", was used as a sample in Kate Bush's song "The Hounds of Love."
