What's left behind the scenes

  • When George drives to Connecticut in a car, the boxes and suitcases in the trunk are arranged differently in various shots.
  • The story about the encounter with the queen in the locker room, told by Gerard Butler's character, actually happened to Spanish footballer Carles Puyol, who, after winning the World Cup semi-final, went into the locker room from the shower and came face to face with the Queen of Spain.
  • In 2004, work began on a film called "Confessions of a Little League Coach." Screenwriter Robbie Fox based the story on his memories of coaching his young son's team and the mothers of other players hitting on him. He pitched the idea to Jonathan Mostow, who liked it so much that he even offered to serve as producer and director after Columbia Pictures became interested in the project. Then everything stalled for several years, and in 2010 the project received independent funding, was renamed, and baseball in the plot was changed to soccer (for the convenience of audiences in other countries). Throughout this time, Mostow remained a producer on the project. Before the film's release, it was renamed again, becoming "The Backup Plan".
