What's left behind the scenes
- Filming of "Penelope" was completed in early spring 2006, after which the project stalled for a long time. The film's US release was planned for April 2007, but after distributors declined, the release was postponed several times, and as a result, the film appeared in cinemas in the US and Britain only in February 2008, almost two years after filming was completed.
- Christina Ricci received the lead role without a preliminary audition at the invitation of Reese Witherspoon.
- It usually took about an hour and a half to correct Christina Ricci's nose and attach a special prosthetic to it.
- Russia became the first country to release the film in theaters.
