What's left behind the scenes

  • Despite the actors being children, all vocal parts were recorded by adult voices.
  • In 2003, according to viewers of Channel 4 (United Kingdom), this film was included in the list of 100 greatest musicals at number 19, surpassing such hits as "Cats" and "The Phantom of the Opera".
  • Instead of bullets and machine-gun fire in "Bugsy Malone," characters were killed with cream pies. If a pie hit someone, it meant they were dead. (Therefore, this film can be watched with children – there are no scenes of violence).
