Ustad Rashid Khan was an Indian classical musician who belonged to the Rampur-Sahaswan gharana, widely regarded as one of the foremost exponents of Hindustani classical music of his generation. Born on 1 July 1968, he was trained in music from an early age under his maternal grand-uncle Ustad Nissar Hussain Khan, continuing a rich family tradition of classical musicians. Renowned for his mastery over various classical forms of singing, Rashid Khan is particularly admired for his deep, resonant voice, intricate taan patterns, and emotive improvisation.
