Millicent is a student writing a thesis on children with severe allergies who takes a job as a babysitter for Johnny, a mute and sickly boy with numerous allergic reactions. As she cares for the child, she uncovers dark secrets regarding the family, including the boy's authoritarian mother, Rebecca, and his father, Jacob. The situation becomes increasingly unstable as Millicent discovers hidden truths about the household.
