What's left behind the scenes

  • Around the 66th minute of the film, a phone booth with a three-letter obscenity written on it briefly appears in the frame.
  • Director Jerry Paris cast his two children in the film. Both appeared in small cameos.
  • Despite the character of Tim Kazurinsky being called Sweetchuck, the sign on his store reveals that his character's actual surname is Schweechuk.
  • The official poster features a sexy blonde woman who does not appear in the film. This was a deliberate trick by the producers who wanted to use it on the poster for the first installment as well.
  • Bill Paxton was offered a central role in the sequel. However, he had to decline as the contract stipulated the character's appearance in subsequent films. Instead, he starred in James Cameron's "Aliens".
  • Actor J.W. Bailey hoped to return in the "Police Academy" sequel as Lieutenant Harris, but director Jerry Paris cut the character from the script, replacing him with Art Metrano, the antagonist of the second and third films.
  • During the fight in the "Blue Oyster" bar, when Hooks asked for the address, Proctor replied: 655 Cowan Avenue. However, in the first film, Mahoney stated that the "Blue Oyster" was located on Howell Avenue.
  • In the scene where Officer Jones jumps over the iron fence, his cap falls off his head twice.
  • In the scene where Stulman throws socks into the closet, miniature magnets were sewn into the socks. This was done specifically to make the socks "stick" tightly to the door.
  • Bill Paxton was offered one of the central roles in the sequel. However, he was forced to decline, as the contract stipulated the character's appearance in subsequent films. Instead, he starred in James Cameron’s “Aliens.”
