What's left behind the scenes
- The dog bowl containing vomit (used to feed the prisoner Asami, played by Eii Shiina) genuinely contained the actress's vomit. According to director Takashi Miike, Shiina, being an actress who works using the Stanislavski system, insisted on it herself.
- The paralyzing substance that Asami slips to Aoyama is fictional. Takashi Miike believed that without it, the film would have been difficult to complete.
