What's left behind the scenes

  • In the UK, just around the time of the film's release, a terrible tragedy occurred: two 11-year-old teenagers kidnapped and killed a three-year-old infant. The press suggested that the film might have influenced the children's behavior. An unofficial ban was imposed in the country on products advertising juvenile crime. So the film was not banned, but many cinemas refused to show it, stores refused to sell the tapes, and the company 'Sky' cancelled the television premiere.
  • As a result of pressure from Universal Pictures, screenwriter Don Mancini began working on the script for the third film in the franchise even before the second film was released. This is why the film was released just 9 months after the 1990 release of 'Child's Play 2'. Mancini called the script for this film his least successful and, consequently, least favorite, as he experienced certain difficulties with fresh ideas due to the short time between the release of the second and third films in the franchise.
  • The first film in the franchise to use computers in the depiction of the Chucky doll.
