- While preparing for filming, director and screenwriter Dea Kulumbegashvili spent a year in a maternity hospital in Georgia. The lead actress Iamze Sukhitasvili, other actors, and cinematographer Arseny Khachaturyan also spent some time there. According to Kulumbegashvili, the maternity hospital staff were very welcoming.
- The film was shot mostly in secret due to an anti-abortion campaign taking place in Georgia during filming.
