The Magic Faraway Tree

A London family moves to the English countryside, where the parents hope for a fresh start and their children find little to like about their new life. Exploring the nearby woods, the children come upon a giant magical tree whose eccentric inhabitants lead them into fantastical lands. The adventures that follow bring the family closer together, while one member of the household longs for the city and the social life left behind.

The Magic Faraway Tree is a family fantasy adventure directed by Ben Gregor, whose only previous feature is Ant Muzak, released in 2002. Simon Farnaby wrote the screenplay, and Pippa Harris, Nicolas Brown and Jane Hooks produced. The cast includes Billie Gadsdon, Delilah Bennett-Cardy and Phoenix Laroche as the children, with Andrew Garfield as their father, Nicola Coughlan as Silky, and Nonso Anozie as Moonface. Thirty-seven cast members and forty-six crew members are credited.

Released on 26 March 2026, the film runs 110 minutes and was produced in the United Kingdom and the United States by Ashland Hill Media Finance, Neal Street Productions, StudioCanal and Elysian Film Group. It has taken about 35 million US dollars worldwide. Audience scores sit at 6.8 out of 10 on IMDb from more than two thousand votes and 6.3 out of 10 on TMDB from a much smaller sample.
