A Bird Called Memory

A trans woman named Lua searches the streets of Rio de Janeiro for a bird called Memory that has lost its way home. As she looks for the animal, she must navigate a city that can be a hostile environment.

This short film was written and directed by Leonardo Martinelli, who also served as a producer alongside Rafael Teixeira and Rafael Manuel. It is the second of three films directed by Martinelli, following Neon Phantom and preceding Samba Infinite. The production was a collaboration between the Brazilian company Pseudo Filmes and the United Kingdom's Idle Eye. Ayla Gabriela stars in the lead role of Lua.
