What's left behind the scenes

  • The film is based on the true story of retired Corporal Bishnu Shrestha from the Gurkha regiment, which took place in September 2010. Bishnu was traveling by train when, at night, the train was stopped by a stop valve pulled by 40 armed robbers who began to steal valuables from passengers. When the bandits decided to rape a girl in front of her parents, Shrestha drew his kukri combat knife and engaged the criminals in a fight. During the clash, Bishnu received serious injuries to his left arm, but continued to fight with his right. As a result, three bandits were killed, eight were seriously wounded, and the rest fled in fear, unable to cope with Shrestha in the narrow aisles of the train. For his courage and heroism, Bishnu Shrestha was awarded two medals. He refused the monetary reward offered to him by the family of the girl he saved.
