What's left behind the scenes

  • Vanessa Lee Chester previously played Kelly, the daughter of Jeff Goldblum's character, in Steven Spielberg's adventure action film 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park' (1997). In that film, she attracted a raptor's attention by shouting 'Hey, you!', after which she used her gymnastics training to kick the monster out of a window. In this film, she plays a DJ at a party, and her only line begins with the words 'Hey, you'.
  • The speech delivered by Mike Capps' character to the children at the beginning of the film is very similar to the speech of the character played by Sam Neill in Steven Spielberg's sci-fi action movie Jurassic Park (1993). Here, too, Capps shows the children a raptor claw.
  • The scientist is asked, "What if it gets wet or is fed after midnight?" This is a reference to Joe Dante's horror film Gremlins (1984).
  • The film contains constant references to John McTiernan's action movie Predator (1987). In two instances, the character played by David Shackelford covers his entire body in mud, believing that the raptor won't see him that way, and in another episode, he smears blood on his face, saying, "If it bleeds, we can kill it." This is exactly what Arnold Schwarzenegger's protagonist in Predator did and said.
