What's left behind the scenes
- Filming took place in three countries – Jordan, Malta, and Spain.
- After the shooting period, Ray Harryhausen (1920-2013, in this film he also worked as a screenwriter) spent almost another year and a half on animation, which he did in his own home studio.
- Animator Ray Harryhausen was forced to create a mechanical baboon. Training a real baboon would have been an incredibly complex process, if even possible at all.
