Ya Boy Kongming! Road to Summer Sonia

Ya Boy Kongming! Road to Summer Sonia is an animated musical comedy set in modern Japan. The story follows an ancient Chinese strategist who is transported to the present day. After meeting Eiko, the strategist applies historical military tactics to the music industry to help her achieve stardom and gain influence in the Shibuya district. This production serves as a compilation film, condensing twelve episodes of an anime series and adding new footage of musical performances.

Directed by Shu Honma and produced by P.A.WORKS, Kodansha, and avex pictures, the film features a voice cast including Kaede Hondo as Eiko Tsukimi and Ryotaro Okiayu as Zhuge Kongming. Other voice roles are performed by Jun Fukushima, Shoya Chiba, Hibiku Yamamura, and Yasunori Masutani. The movie was released on March 1, 2024, with a total runtime of 119 minutes.
