The Last Romantic

The upcoming Mexican drama and romance, The Last Romantic, centers on a fifty-year-old woman named Maribel Cruz Mejía. Through a recorded video message addressed to her lover, Marcelo, Maribel reflects on the life experiences and personal struggles that led her to the decision to end her own life. The film focuses on the attempt to preserve the memory of a profound love and a lost identity.

The film is written and directed by Vicente Garibay Lijanova, who also served as a producer alongside Iñaki S. G. Miranda and María Andrea Ramírez. This project follows Garibay Lijanova's previous work on Smile in 2021 and Isolated Silence in 2024. The short film has a runtime of ten minutes and features Yadira Pérez in the lead role of Maribel Cruz Mejía. It was produced by Cine Acrílico and R7D.
