Cities of the Future

Cities of the Future is a documentary that examines new engineering developments designed to build a sustainable world. The film explores various technological advancements and the role of engineers in creating long-term environmental viability for urban areas.

This United States production was co-produced by MacGillivray Freeman Films and the American Society of Civil Engineers. The film was co-directed by Greg MacGillivray and Shaun MacGillivray. For Greg MacGillivray, this project followed his 2022 film Ireland and preceded Superhuman Body: World of Medical Marvels in 2024. For Shaun MacGillivray, who also served as a producer, this was the first of two films he directed before Superhuman Body: World of Medical Marvels.

The screenplay was written by Kristin Donnan and Janna Emmel. The 40-minute film features the voice of John Krasinski, who serves as the narrator.
