Elegant Beast

A materialistic family attempts to conceal the embezzlement of funds committed by their son while continuing their own dishonest schemes. As they struggle to maintain their newfound wealth and status, they realize that other cunning individuals are also manipulating the situation for their own gain.

This 1962 Japanese crime drama was produced by Daiei Film and written by Kaneto Shindō. Directed by Yūzō Kawashima, it is the eleventh film in his chronological list of directorial works, following The Temple of Wild Geese.
