Secret Chronicle: She Beast Market

Set in 1970s Osaka, this drama follows a determined young woman named Tome who works as a prostitute. She lives with her elderly mother, who is also in the profession, and her brother, who has an intellectual disability. The story focuses on the family's struggle to survive within their impoverished environment and the complicated emotional and physical bonds between the siblings.

Directed by Noboru Tanaka, this was his second feature film, following Night of the Felines and preceding Noboru Ando's Chronicle of Fugitive Days and Sex. The screenplay was written by Akio Ido.
