What's left behind the scenes

  • At the end of the film, when Darryl enters the building and tips the doorman, the song 'Movin on Up' from the 'The Jeffersons' series (1975–1985) plays. Notably, the role of the doorman was played by Sherman Hemsley, who starred in that series.
  • The scene where Matthew Lillard's character thinks Darryl is overdosing and his friends advise giving him an adrenaline shot to the heart is clearly a reference to a similar scene from the film "Pulp Fiction" (1994).
  • This is Tamara Taylor's debut feature film.
  • When Darryl plays his first hockey game, the announcer says he is close to not letting a single puck past him during the game. After that, they show Darryl blocking another attack, and the game ends. And when the players then celebrate their victory on the ice, you can notice that the scoreboard shows a score of 4:1.
  • When Patrick Ewing throws Darryl on the basketball court, Ewing's jacket disappears and reappears with each shot change.
  • When Darryl is in the clothing store, he is supposed to be naked, but in close-ups you can see he is wearing black underwear.
