My Way

This documentary examines the history of the song My Way, exploring how it became a globally recognized piece of pop culture. It traces the origins of the music back to France in the summer of 1967, where it was first conceived at a private hotel owned by Claude François. The film follows the series of chance encounters and late nights that eventually brought the composition across the Atlantic to the artist who turned it into a worldwide success.

The film was co-directed by Lisa Azuelos and Thierry Teston. For Azuelos, this project follows her 2023 film The Book of Wonders and precedes her 2026 work LOL 2.0: Anne’s Golden Hour. It marks the directorial debut for Teston, who later directed Véronique Sanson : Hasta Luego ! in 2024. The screenplay was written by both directors and produced by Patrick André through High Sea Production.

The production is a joint effort between the United States and France. The cast includes Paul Anka, Jacques Revaux, Ben Harper, Clara Luciani, and Jean-Philippe Rio-Py appearing as themselves, with Jane Fonda providing the narration. Released on May 16, 2024, the movie has a runtime of 90 minutes and blends elements of music, comedy, and documentary.
