Concerto For Other Hands is a Mexican music documentary about David, a young man who aspires to be a pianist. His father, José Luis, initially believes this goal is unattainable because David has limited hearing, short arms, and only four fingers on his hands. Through persistence, David demonstrates that he can play the instrument in his own unique way. The two then embark on a musical journey together, leading to a significant challenge where David performs the premiere of a complex concerto for piano and orchestra written specifically for him by his father.
The film was directed and written by Ernesto González Díaz, who also served as a producer alongside Grace Ríos Vázquez. It was produced by several companies, including the Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografía, Benuca Films, Mirall Cinema, and Fomento al Cine Mexicano. Released on June 11, 2024, the production has a runtime of 79 minutes.
