Set in Mexico during the rule of Porfirio Díaz, The Red Stone follows a history teacher whose work with pre-Hispanic artifacts draws her into paranormal events. The story centers on Carmen, who returns to Guadalajara in 1909 to examine archaeological finds sent for the anniversary of Independence. As political unrest simmers around her, she must restore idols and objects that are said to be cursed, and one particular idol becomes the focus of a terrifying situation.
The film is a Mexican horror short directed and written by Jaime Jasso, running 23 minutes, with Rodolfo Guzmán producing for Area 74 Films. Denisse Corona plays Carmen, and Guadalupe Ortiz appears as Leonor. It was released in May 2024.
