ReEntry

Elenore is struggling to cope after her husband disappears, having signed up for a scientific experiment. A year passes, and he returns, but she comes to understand that the man who came back is not from this reality but from a parallel dimension. The film deals with the emotional fallout of that discovery and the question of what his reappearance means for her.

ReEntry is a 2024 release directed by Brendan Choisnet from a screenplay by Daniel Nayeri, running 98 minutes. Emily Deschanel plays Elenore, with Noma Dumezweni as Alicia, Sam Trammell as Lucas Bello, Maulik Pancholy as Avi Walia, Gina Jun as a reporter and Sanjit De Silva as Rohan Selva. The production pairs a science-fiction premise with a small ensemble, and the presence of Deschanel and Dumezweni at the centre suggests the film leans on the two women's performances rather than on large-scale spectacle. The story's domestic focus, built around a marriage disrupted by an experiment and by an impossible return, places it in the tradition of intimate speculative drama rather than action-driven science fiction.

The film was released on 11 October 2024. It appears in Choisnet's filmography as a feature following his earlier work, with Nayeri writing the script.
