Le Ciel de Nantes is an upcoming comedy and drama that explores the complex dynamics of three generations of a family. Set on a theater stage designed to look like an abandoned film studio, the story follows family members who gather to watch a film about their own lives. The plot weaves together six different destinies, touching on social history, labor struggles, immigration, and the Algerian War. The characters navigate fifty years of unspoken grievances and conflict, oscillating between anger and affection as they settle old scores.
The film is written and directed by Christophe Honoré, who also shares directing duties with Julien Condemine. This project follows Honoré's previous work, including Orange-Flavoured Wedding, released earlier in 2026. Condemine also directed several projects in 2026, such as Normal and L'École de Danse. The production is a French venture involving La Compagnie des Indes, Comité dans Paris, and Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne. The film has a runtime of 150 minutes.
