Submerged

Chris Cody is a former military operative serving time in prison when he is offered a way out: his freedom in exchange for taking on one more assignment. A renegade scientist has developed technology capable of controlling minds, turning loyal servants of the state into killers, and Cody is sent after him with a team of fellow former prisoners. The mission draws him into a conspiracy reaching further than he was told, and the mind-control weapon threatens the people fighting alongside him.

The film is directed by Anthony Hickox, who also wrote the screenplay with Paul de Souza. It follows Blast in the list of films he has directed, arriving after a run of earlier work that includes Waxwork, Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth and Warlock: The Armageddon. Steven Seagal plays Cody, with Christine Adams as Dr. Susan Chappell, William Hope as Agent Fletcher, Nick Brimble as the scientist Adrian Lehder, Vinnie Jones as Henry and Alison King as Damita.

Submerged was released in 2005 and runs 96 minutes. It was made for a budget of 15 million dollars as a co-production involving Bulgaria, the United Kingdom and the United States. Audiences have responded poorly to it: on IMDb it holds a rating of 3.7 out of 10 from around 5,400 votes, and on TMDB it stands at 4.7 out of 10 from roughly 141 votes.
