Before Night Falls 2

Set in the Dutch East Indies during the 1920s, this horror film follows Giandra, a young medical professional from STOVIA. After learning that a girl named Layla is being kept in chains in a distant village as a treatment for mental illness, Giandra travels to Karuhun to help her. Accompanied by a journalist named Rikke, he enters a community where ancestral beliefs and mysticism hold more power than scientific reason. The story focuses on the struggle between modern medical practices and deep-rooted local superstitions.

The film was directed, produced, and written by Helfi C.H. Kardit. It is the fourth feature directed by Kardit, following Broken Hearts, Before Night Falls, and Rambut Kafan. The cast features Aditya Zoni in the lead role of Giandra, with Aisha Kastolan as Layla and Aurelia Lourdes as Rikke. Other cast members include Ajeng Fauziah, Mutia Datau, and Shania Sree Maharani. Produced by Helroad Films in Indonesia, the movie has a runtime of 99 minutes and was released on September 4, 2025.
