Short description

This French comedy features Félicien Trewey, who uses a simple wide-brimmed hat to create a series of comical headpieces. Through these transformations, he performs a variety of caricatures, including different nationalities and social roles such as a fisherman, a concierge, and a soldier.

The film was produced by the Lumière company and directed by Louis Lumière. It is the first of 48 films he directed, followed by Discussion in 1895. Auguste Lumière served as a producer alongside Louis. Félicien Trewey appears as himself, performing a style of entertainment called chapeaugraphy.

The short has a runtime of one minute. Audience members have given it a 6.1 rating on IMDb based on 1,300 votes and a 5.9 rating on TMDB from 49 votes.
