Hanging by a Wire is a documentary thriller centered on a terrifying incident that occurred in northwest Pakistan during August 2023. The story follows a group of students who used a homemade cable car to travel across a mountain pass on their way to school. While suspended hundreds of feet in the air, two of the supporting cables snapped, leaving the teenagers stranded in a life-threatening situation that gained international media attention.
The film was directed by Mohammed Naqvi, who also served as a producer and co-wrote the screenplay alongside Bilal Sami. A co-production between the United Kingdom, Pakistan, and the United States, the project involved several production companies, including Universal Pictures Content Group, Mindhouse Productions, EverWonder Studio, and 64th Street Media. The movie has a total runtime of 77 minutes.
