Ownerships

Ownerships is an upcoming Spanish comedy and drama about a couple in their forties named Vera and Lucas. Seeking a better living situation, they purchase a large apartment at a heavily discounted rate through a bare ownership agreement, which allows the elderly owner, Jesús, to remain in the home until his death. The situation becomes tense when Jesús vanishes and later returns with a changed personality, appearing healthier and more active than expected. Driven by frustration and suspicion, the couple begins to contemplate an absurd and tempting plan to secure their home.

The film is written and directed by Alberto Utrera, following his 2025 film One X Two. Produced by Carlota Amor Moreno through Buendía Estudios and Garajonay Producciones, the movie stars Susana Abaitua as Vera and Maxi Iglesias as Lucas. With a runtime of 90 minutes, the production explores the strained relationship between the buyers and the resident through a lens of dark humor.
