What's left behind the scenes

  • The computer-animated 3D film "The Snow Queen" entered the European film market in 2013, when it was presented at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film received positive reviews from film critics from Brazil, South Korea, Israel, Indonesia, and the Middle Eastern countries. Offers for foreign distribution were made to the copyright holders.
  • The film was produced by Wizart Animation studio in Voronezh, Russia. Work on the picture took 5 years, not 3 as initially assumed, and was completed on October 22, 2012. Already on November 1 of the same year, the film was presented at the AMC Santa Monica cinema in California, USA. The reviews were exceptionally positive.
  • The film received 85% positive reviews both in Russia and abroad – in particular, at Marche du Film (one of the events within the Cannes Film Festival) and the International Animation Film Festival in Annecy, France – and won several awards.
  • Inspired by the success of the film "The Snow Queen", animators from Wizart Animation announced the start of work on a sequel titled "The Snow Queen 2: The Snow King". It was released in Russia on January 1, 2015.
  • The film "The Snow Queen" was shown as part of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth Buster in Copenhagen in September 2013.
  • The animated film was released in American theaters on October 11, 2013, and became available on DVD on January 28, 2014.
