I'm in Love with a Stripper

On Christmas Eve, a lonely man named Michael attempts to win back his former girlfriend, Honey. Though she is repelled by his arrival, Honey agrees to listen to his declaration of love for ten minutes after he offers her 1000 dollars. Michael hopes for a romantic reunion, but Honey, who works as a stripper, rejects his fantasy. The story explores the reality of sex work and challenges common romantic comedy stereotypes through the perspective of the woman behind the professional image.

This Canadian comedy-drama was written and directed by Julie Phan, who based the screenplay on her semi-autobiographical stage play, Never Walk Alone. Phan also produced the film alongside Paul Flicker and starred as Honey/Iris. The cast includes Justin Eddy as Michael, Anthony Parise as the bouncer, and Sierra Haynes as the coat check girl.
