Venus

An 8mm film work created from the perspective of "perceiving film as a body". By re-examining the elements that constitute film and their relationships, this viewpoint naturally extended not only to film as a material but also to the projector, light, and the human body. ⁡Additionally, images of life emerging from the sea, as well as Nirai Kanai in Okinawa and the Eternal World or Land of the Dead as depicted in the Kojiki, overlapped naturally during the creation process—worldviews "bounded by the sea. ⁡This work does not depict mythology itself. ⁡Through the boundary of the sea, it expresses inner transformation and rebirth, as well as the process of moving toward light, using 8mm film as its material.
