What's left behind the scenes

  • The filming of the New Year's celebration actually turned into a real party for the film crew and cast.
  • According to Rosario Dawson, she perfected all the complex moves for the performance during the audition for the song “Out Tonight,” and during the audition itself, she was so nervous that she could barely move. The actress thought she had failed the audition and left upset. Nevertheless, she impressed director Chris Columbus so much that he caught up with her and immediately offered her the role.
  • At the very end of the credits, the inscription “Thank you, Jonathan Larson” appears. This could have been a reference to a showing of “Bohemia” after the death of screenwriter Jonathan Larson (1960-1996) only for Larson’s relatives and friends, in memory of him and his work. When the showing ended, the audience sat in silence for a long time, until the silence was broken by a young male voice from the depths of the auditorium, who shouted these words.
