- For this role, Tom Hardy communicated with the real Charles Bronson by phone and also met with him in person. During the meetings, Bronson was so impressed with Hardy's preparation for the role, and with the thought that his life would be immortalized in the film, that he shaved off his signature mustache and sent it to the actor to wear during filming.
