Tickle Me is a 1965 musical comedy set around a dude ranch that caters to wealthy women. Lonnie Beale, a rodeo rider who sings, takes a job there and catches the attention of nearly everyone except Pam Meritt, a fitness instructor who keeps her distance. When thieves break in looking for a letter left by her late grandfather, Lonnie steps in to help her. The letter points toward a hidden cache of gold in a ghost town called Silverado, and the pair set out together to track it down. A deputy and his associates are also after the letter, which brings the search to a confrontation.
Norman Taurog directed the film, the twelfth of fourteen he made in chronological order, following Blue Hawaii and preceding Spinout. The screenplay is by Elwood Ullman and Edward Bernds, with Ben Schwalb and Emanuel L. Wolf producing for Allied Artists Pictures. Elvis Presley stars as Lonnie, alongside Julie Adams, Jocelyn Lane, Jack Mullaney, Merry Anders and Bill Williams among a credited cast of twenty.
The production had a budget of two million dollars and took in three million worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.8 from roughly 2,300 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6 out of 10 from a much smaller number of votes. The audience scores are modest on both platforms.
