What's left behind the scenes

  • Jing Wong made this film to spite Jackie Chan, with whom he had a falling out during the filming of 'City Hunter' (1992). Thus, in the film, Jet Li's hero is partnered by Zhang Xue You, an actor very similar to Jackie, who also used the pseudonym 'Jackkie Chung' in this film, which is a mockery of Chan's pseudonym; many scenes in the film are, in one way or another, a parody of Jackie Chan's previous films, and Jet Li's character frequently ridicules the parody throughout the plot; Jackie's friends and family are also mocked in the film, quite openly.
  • The film was originally scheduled for release in 1994, but for unclear reasons, it was not released in cinemas until 1995.
