Past Tense

A former police officer turned novelist begins a relationship with a young woman who moves in next door. After spending one night together, he returns to find her murdered. However, authorities inform him that no such person ever resided at that address. Upon returning to the house, he encounters a different woman who claims to have lived there for years and denies that anyone else ever occupied the home.

Directed by Graeme Clifford, this 1994 television movie follows his previous works, Frances and Gleaming the Cube, and precedes Redeemer. The film stars Scott Glenn as Gene Ralston, alongside Lara Flynn Boyle, Anthony LaPaglia, David Ogden Stiers, Sheree J. Wilson, and Marita Geraghty. It was produced by Showtime Networks and Viacom Productions.
