What's left behind the scenes

  • The film was shot entirely in the Philippines.
  • Five crew members died as a result of a helicopter crash during filming. The film is dedicated to their memory.
  • Michael Winner could have directed, but Chuck Norris disliked his script version.
  • Michael Dudikoff and Steve James were attached to the project when it was titled «Spitfire: Delta Force II».
  • Ramon Kota owns a Cessna airplane parked at the entrance to his estate. This is a reference to Pablo Escobar, a real-life Colombian drug lord who had the same entrance to his estate.
  • Kota's mansion, seen in the film, is the real «Palace in the Sky» located in Tagaytay City, Philippines. The palace was established in 1979 by former Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos and is known as «People’s Park in the Sky».
  • General Olmedo's enemy helicopter fires more than four missiles, despite having only four missile bays.
  • When McCoy enters Kota's house, the guard on the balcony is carrying a rifle over his shoulder. When McCoy grabs him and throws him aside, the rifle is gone.
  • When McCoy jumps out of the plane, it is clearly visible that he is jumping into darkness. However, he lands in daylight.
  • The Spanish word “Solamente” is written as “Solamiente” with a spelling error on one of the posters in the drug laboratory.
