The Haunted Hotel

An exhausted traveler checks into a hotel to rest, but fatigue triggers a series of vivid hallucinations. Monsters emerge around his bed, which suddenly vanishes and leaves him on the floor. As he attempts to use a chair, it breaks and slides away. He finds himself in a surreal struggle as chairs multiply indefinitely and fill the room, remaining just out of reach before eventually piling up and burying him.

This short French comedy and horror film was produced by Pathé Frères and released on July 23, 1909. It was directed by Segundo de Chomón, following his earlier works The Gallants of the Park from 1904 and Modern Sculptors from 1908. The film has a total runtime of four minutes.
