Paris When It Sizzles

In Paris, Hollywood screenwriter Richard Benson has been hired by producer Alexander Meyerheimer to deliver a script, but months have passed with almost nothing written. With roughly 48 hours left before the deadline, Benson brings in a temporary secretary, Gabrielle Simpson, to help him produce the pages he still owes. Working together in his apartment, the two act out scenes and story ideas as they go, and the professional arrangement gradually turns into something more personal.

Paris When It Sizzles is a 1964 American romantic comedy directed by Richard Quine. It belongs to a busy stretch of his career: he had directed Sex and the Single Girl earlier the same year, and the film sits among the features he made between Bell, Book and Candle and The Prisoner of Zenda. George Axelrod wrote the screenplay, and he and Quine produced. William Holden plays Benson opposite Audrey Hepburn as Gabrielle, with Grégoire Aslan as Inspector Gilet and supporting turns from Raymond Bussières, Christian Duvaleix and Michel Thomass.

The film runs 110 minutes. On IMDb it holds a critics' rating of 5.7 out of 10 from 11 reviews, while on TMDB its audience rating stands at 6.3 out of 10 from 201 votes, a modest reception in both cases.
