Cry of the Bewitched

Set on a sugar plantation in mid-19th century Cuba, this film follows a freed slave and her grandmother who plan revenge against the local inhabitants. The young woman is the descendant of a murdered witch and utilizes her heritage to target the estate's residents. However, the plot becomes complicated when she falls in love with the plantation owner, a man who is initially skeptical of the supernatural rumors surrounding her but eventually becomes enchanted by her. This attraction puts his pregnant wife and unborn child in danger.

A joint production between Cuba and Mexico by Domino productions, the film was directed by Alfredo B. Crevenna. This was the first of two films listed in his career, followed by Cacería implacable in 1988. The cast features Ninón Sevilla in the title role of Yambaó, alongside Ramón Gay, Rosa Elena Durgel, Olga Guillot, Fedora Capdevila, and Ricardo Román. The screenplay was written by Julio Albo and Julio Alejandro.
