The Trial of the Incredible Hulk

David Banner is arrested after intervening in a crime in a city controlled by the crime boss Wilson Fisk, and while he awaits trial, the blind attorney Matt Murdock takes his case. Murdock is secretly the vigilante Daredevil, and Banner is secretly the Hulk, a fact that becomes hard to hide as the legal proceedings continue and a confrontation with Fisk approaches.

The film is a television movie directed by Bill Bixby, who also plays David Banner. It is the second of three Hulk television films he directed, between The Incredible Hulk Returns from 1988 and The Death of the Incredible Hulk from 1990, and it comes from a screenplay by Gerald Di Pego. Lou Ferrigno returns as the Hulk. The cast also includes Marta DuBois, Nancy Everhard, Nicholas Hormann and Richard Cummings Jr., among 24 credited performers. The production was handled by New World Television.

Airing in 1989, the film places its title character inside a courtroom story while bringing in a second Marvel figure, Daredevil, whose alter ego defends him. On IMDb the film holds a rating of 5.8 from around 3,400 votes, while on TMDB its average is 6.4 from a much smaller base of 152 votes. The gap between the two audiences is modest, with TMDB users somewhat more favourable than the larger IMDb sample.
