Actors and characters

The film features a real, functioning sauna. It was located near where the filmmakers and actors were staying, and both groups frequently visited the sauna in their spare time.
The dog shown in the film is named Ranne, which translates from Finnish as "wrist." The dog was not in the original script, but he constantly hung around the filming set, and director and screenwriter Jonas Makkonen liked the idea of including him in the movie. The dog's owner did not object and mentioned that Ranne had already appeared in films.
The characters played by Enni Ojutkangas, Vincent Tzan, Katja Jaskari, and Olli Saarenpää were created specifically for these actors. The character Jari was originally written for an actor named Jari Manninen, but it was intended that the name be changed. In the end, director and screenwriter Jonas Makkonen gave the name Jari to the character played by Ruper Olenius, and cast Jari Manninen as the character named Mise.
