Love and Bullets

Charlie Congers is a veteran FBI agent sent to Switzerland to bring back Jackie Pruit, the girlfriend of gangster Joe Bomposa, in the hope that she can provide evidence against him. Jackie turns out to know almost nothing useful about Bomposa's business, and the two become close during their time together. When Bomposa decides she has become a liability, his men go after her, and Congers is left to deal with the consequences.

Love and Bullets is a British production from ITC Entertainment, released in April 1979 and running 103 minutes. Stuart Rosenberg directed, working from a screenplay by Wendell Mayes, John Melson and John Crowther, with Pancho Kohner producing. It was one of two Rosenberg films released that year, following The Amityville Horror and preceding Brubaker, and it was the sixth of the eight films listed among his directing credits. Charles Bronson leads as Congers opposite Jill Ireland as Jackie, with Rod Steiger as Bomposa and Henry Silva, Strother Martin and Bradford Dillman among the supporting cast of 29 credited players.
