Ator, the Fighting Eagle is an Italian fantasy adventure from 1982. Its hero is a young man who discovers he is the son of Torren, a warrior killed by the followers of a spider-worshipping cult. When the cult's raiders attack his village and carry off Sunya, the woman he is to marry, Ator sets out after them, determined to avenge the dead and win her back. His path crosses that of Griba, an older figure who teaches him to fight, and leads him toward a confrontation with the cult's high priest.
Joe D'Amato directed and wrote the screenplay, with Alex Susmann producing for Filmirage and Metaxa Corporation. It was the fourteenth film in D'Amato's directing career, arriving between Caligula: The Untold Story and Endgame. Miles O'Keeffe plays Ator, with Sabrina Siani, Ritza Brown, Laura Gemser and Edmund Purdom in supporting roles. The film runs 92 minutes.
Audience reception has been modest: on TMDB it holds a rating of 4 out of 10 from 101 votes, which suggests viewers have generally found little in it beyond its low-budget sword-and-sorcery trappings.
